U.S. Green Building Council
As the Director of Commercial Real Estate, Marc Heisterkamp manages the
U.S. Green Building Council's outreach and market engagement with the entire commercial real estate market. In this work, Marc works closely with industry leaders and major associations to increase the knowledge, financial incentives and implementation of green building across a variety of bottom-line driven entities, including developers, investors, retailers, hoteliers and other corporations. Marc is also the key leader in the development of initiatives related to green building finance, including commercial lending, insurance, and appraisal. Marc is a frequent speaker at industry events and private company functions and also oversees USGBC's relationships with leading companies seeking to integrate green building strategies into their everyday work. He and his staff actively assist these large companies by applying LEED and the concepts of green building on a broad scale, multiplying the financial and environmental impacts of going green. Marc was instrumental in the development of the Portfolio Program, a voluntary partnership program for companies and institutions seeking to integrate green design, construction and operations into standard business operations. In past roles at USGBC, Marc has managed membership recruitment and services, launched numerous new USGBC chapters and developed the regional structure for the chapter network. Marc holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and a MBA with a concentration in environmental management. He lives with his wife in Washington, DC. | ||
